When looking back at my purchases, the discount amounts this year were not as exciting as prior years in terms of % off. However, most of the items I bought were either tried & true and/or a replacement. As such, I feel that this was one of the more responsible Black Fridays for me!
2023 Purchases
Costco Monopoly Game | Purchased for $34.99 (23% off) Spotted this at Costco last weekend and couldn’t resist. The illustrations are so detailed and thoughtful, with such fun touches. This would be a perfect for any Costco fan.
La Colombe Peppermint Mocha Draft Latte | Purchased for $23 (30% off) + Free Shipping I’m a sucker for La Colombe’s draft lattes (which are lactose-free!), especially their seasonal flavors. Now I’m ready to transition from Pumpkin Spice to Peppermint Mocha, thanks to their 30% + free shipping sale with code HOORAY.
Pepper Bras | Purchased for $55 each (15% off) These rarely go on sale in neutral colors, so I decided to snag some of their newer styles to try. I have their Classic bra which fits well, but isn’t very smooth underneath tighter tops. So I’m excited to try out their newer Contour T-Shirt bra.
Stratia Skincare | Purchased for 20% off As mentioned in my sales roundup, I recently discovered this Reddit-favorite brand earlier this year. The Interface is a great affordable dupe for Drunk Elephant’s Protini Cream, and the Lipid Gold has helped reduce dry skin from using tretinoin. I also picked up a Fortify oil, as I’m interested in trying gua sha soon – if you have any routine recommendations, please let me know!
Jonathan Adler x Ruggable | Purchased for $216 + 10% cash back (33% off) While I love admiring the colorful Iris Apfel collection, I opted for a more neutral option from the Jonathan Adler line. I ordered this in their tufted version, which is twice as thick – I’ll report back soon with a review!
Keep Me Honest 2022 Edition
Honestly – I did alright in 2022. I have kept all of my purchases and am still currently wearing (or using) them. Here’s to another year!
Parade Assortment of Basics | Purchased for $96 (63% off) I purchased a few sets of Lush Rib t-shirts + leggings, and I wear them quite frequently as baselayers in the winter. The only downside is that the neckline comes pretty high up, so I can’t layer these under crew neck sweaters (only turtlenecks and funnelnecks).
Glossier Wowder & Swiss Miss Balm | Purchased for $31 + 10% cash back (20% off) Unfortunately, despite the lovely scent description, the Wowder solid perfume was a miss for me personally. I initiated a return, and they let me keep it – I ended up passing it along to a friend who loves it, so it all worked out! The Swiss Miss balm was fun, albeit slightly too artificial in flavor, so I use it sparingly.
Aritzia Pietra Skirt | Purchased for $108 (10% OFF) Still love this skirt. It’s not an everyday piece for me, but a fun take on a classic black slip skirt for events year-round, and day-time wear in the winter.
Farm Rio Romantic Garden Minidress | Purchased for $127.50 + $15 cash back (55% off) Another win. I’ve classified this as my fall-winter dress, as I can comfortably wear a long-sleeve thermal and thick tights underneath to stay quite warm.
Blinds.com Woven Wood Shades | Purchased for $311 (52% off) Happily installed for the past year now. No complaints or surprises, I purchased these to match another set in the same area.

Ooh, the Jonathan Adler rugs! If I wasn’t already done rug shopping, would definitely consider those. And I also appreciate the Apfel line, though it’s not for me.
