Summer Color Edit

Despite today’s drizzly May morning, the weather has finally started to warm up – summer is almost here! Allison Bornstein’s recent post on incorporating color & prints into day-to-day outfits had me thinking about my own wardrobe for the next few months.

I’m still very much a neutrals person at heart, but I’ve always had a soft spot for a pop of color or wild print. This is usually manifested in the form of a statement handbag or event dress (hello Zimmerman!). But, I’ve recently started to incorporate color into other parts of my closet as well.

Allison’s post succinctly articulates how to do so, without a) overhauling your wardrobe entirely and b) in a way that feels natural. For the latter, she calls out a detail about denim / white / camel being the base for neutrals. Historically, I’ve struggled to incorporate color when most of my wardrobe is black – and now I realize exactly why!

With that – here is what I’m most excited to wear this summer. This list is a mix of newer acquisitions and older pieces that haven’t gotten as much love in the past few years. And a few picks for the aforementioned “new” neutrals that aren’t black :)
