Quince Maternity
First up are my hits & misses from Quince’s maternity-specific line. Some of these are also advertised as post-partum, so I will continue to update this review of items I was able to continue wearing in the months afterwards as well.
Going through this list, I noticed that I didn’t try any of their tops. This was mainly due to the timing of my second and third trimesters during peak winter. I mainly wore Uniqlo undershirts (which still fit great!) with oversized sweaters, and did not need additional shirts. You can see my full list of maternity clothing recommendations (including non-maternity options) in this post here.

Hits
Maternity Recycled Knit Midi Dress
- Best for: All trimesters
- I loved this dress. Which is really surprising, because non-pregnant me typically doesn’t feel comfortable in form fitting dresses. The material is extra soft and stretchy, and double lined is a plus, especially for the white one.
- It can also be dressed up like I did for our maternity shoot, paired with this Selezza London top. Or easily dressed casually with a cashmere cardigan or linen button down.
- Towards the very end of my third trimester, this was one of the few items I could still continue wearing comfortably
Seamless Maternity & Nursing Bra
- Best for: All trimesters
- I’ve more or less transitioned fully to comfortable bras like Neiwai’s Barely Zero bra and Pepper’s wirefree t-shirt bra. I ordered Quince’s bra in my usual size Small and it fits well and is comfortable. I like that it comes with a band extender as well, to make it versatile between pregnancy & post-partum months.
3-Pack Compression Socks
- Best for: All trimesters
- These are socks. And they are really compressive. They do the job!
Maternity Robe & Nightgown Set (Similar)
- Best for: All trimesters
- I think this would also work well while pregnant in the summer months; unfortunately, I was winter!
- I will update this post with a more detailed review – I haven’t had a chance to wear this set yet, but plan to at the hospital and immediately post-partum.
YMMV
Maternity Recycled Knit Unitard (1 size down)
- Best for: 2nd & 3rd Trimesters
- By the time I hit 3rd trimester, I was wearing this unitard for most of my workout classes. And towards the end of the 3rd trimester, for most of my regular days as well. It’s so nice to not have a waistband pressing on the belly.
- This material is very similar to the knit midi dress above – very soft and stretchy, and easy on the sensitive belly area.
- The only reason this gets a “Your mileage may vary” rating is the visual fit.
- I tried this in both a Size S & Size XS, with the latter generally better fitting overall. However, with both sizes, there’s something odd happening in the crotch area – it’s baggy and not very flattering… like a reverse cameltoe situation. However, in black it’s not as noticeable. And I can’t see past my belly anyway so I pretend it doesn’t exist lol.
Misses
Maternity Silk Slip Dress
- Best for: 1st & 2nd Trimesters
- I wanted to love this, based on the raving reviews. However, I think I’ve come to accept that form fitting dresses are more flattering on maternity me. A bit of an irony, as pre-pregnancy I tend to avoid these. This dress was just too loose overall, and I felt (and looked) like I was wearing a tent, and not in a good way!
Bonus: Non-Maternity Hits
There were several items from Quince’s regular line-up that I enjoyed wearing through different parts of my pregnancy. I liked being able to utilize non-maternity wear, knowing that I could use them outside of this temporary timeframe as well. Some of these may look familiar, as I covered them in my fall & winter maternity clothing guide as well.
Cotton Cashmere Ribbed Midi Dress (1 size up)
- Best for: All trimesters
- Along with its close sleeveless cousin, is an excellent maternity dress despite not being a bump-specific style. It is lightweight (yet still warm) and very stretchy, and can be worn in an office setting as well if paired with a jacket or sweater.
- Sizing note: For the long sleeved version, I prefer sizing up regardless, to get a bit more of the flare in the sleeves and skirt. This worked perfectly, I was able to wear this late into my third trimester.
100% Washable Silk Maxi Skirt (1 size up)
- Best for: 1st & 2nd Trimester
- I was debating between this skirt, and the maternity midi dress (above) for our maternity photo shoot. I ultimately went with the dress, but found this comfortable to wear even at 29 weeks, simply by sizing up. The maxi length of this skirt allows it to accommodate a bump without raising the front hem too obviously, like it would on a regular midi skirt.
100% Cashmere Midi Skirt (1 size up)
- Best for: 1st & 2nd Trimester
- I originally reviewed this skirt here, and had sized up to reduce its clinginess. This worked out well, as I could wear them in the first half of pregnancy, too! The waistband and cashmere ribbing stretches comfortably, without losing its form.
Ultra Soft Leggings
- Best for: All trimesters, though may slide down a little during mid-3rd and beyond
- I am really bummed that they stopped offering this in black; otherwise, I would absolutely would have purchased another pair. Although I also have Lululemon Align leggings, which are famously stretchy, I preferred the thickness of the Quince leggings especially for cooler winter months. Though they don’t have these in black, they do carry them in many heathered colors!
Flowknit Mid Rise Jogger
- Best for: 1st & 2nd Trimester
- These are marketed as comparable to Vuori’s famous stretchy joggers. They’re certainly comfortable and well-priced, but they were not nearly as stretchy as Vuori’s. I got these in my regular size, Small, and my X-Small Vuori’s actually had a stretchier waistband.
