Like clockwork, time for the fifth installment of “luxury inspired” looks for less, past editions here. This year’s edition focuses on Miu Miu, the It brand of 2024, along with classic minimalist styles from Loewe, Saint Laurent, and Celine.
Before we jump in, a quick note on my methodology:
- I try to stick with alternatives that are still well-made with leather materials. So while not cheap cheap, these alternatives will hopefully last longer than PU versions available at Target, Zara, etc.
- I also avoid near-exact dupes, such as Quince’s Bottega-esque bags – to keep things a little more interesting. No shade here, as Quince’s bags are great quality for their price.
Anyways, without further ado…
Miu Miu Beau – $3,550 – $3,880
The popular Beau bag comes in a few different sizes and silhouettes – with the small being more of an east-west baguette style, and the medium and large a more traditional Boston bag. The great thing though, is that this is a relatively simple and classic design. So there are many alternative options that won’t break the bank.
Specifically, W Concept, a Korean online retailer featuring contemporary K-Fashion brands has several to choose from, all under the $500 mark:
- Margesherwood Baguette $321
- Margesherwood Soft Boston $412
- DeMAKER Vetiver Leather Bag $378
- Dunst 28 Bag $221

Miu Miu Aventura – $3,800 – $4,100
The distinctive features of the Aventura bag are its dome shape, paired with two small straps that dangle in the front.

- Coach’s hot-selling Empire line also has a similar silhouette, though at a higher price point starting at $450 and up to $895 for the largest sizes
Miu Miu x New Balance 530 Sneakers – $1,170
Taking a quick break from bags, these shoes are preppy, sporty and fun with the mis-matched colorful laces. The Wacky Willy and Alohas are most similar in style, but the Suecomma sneakers take a funky platform spin on the style.
Bottega Sardine Bag – $4,500
I love the design of this bag. But, unfortunately the eye-watering price does not automatically translate to longevity. Every time I’ve looked at this bag in person, the handle has a lot of marks and dings from being on display on the sales floor. Which is crazy for a $4K+ bag. Thankfully, there are other options!
- Cuyana’s Nova Bag $458 – has a slightly different silhouette, but still has the statement curved gold metal handle that gives it Sardine vibes
- Mansur Gavriel Metal Hera $595 – this is the latest iteration of MG’s Hera shoulder bag line, and it’s the closest dupe I’ve seen to the Sardine bag. I saw this at my local Nordstrom, and it looks like the handle has held up well so far and the leather is soft, but not too delicate.
Toteme T Lock Bag – $1,390
Both elegant and effortless at the same time, the T Lock Bag is not too crazily priced in the realm of luxury bags, coming in just over $1,000. However, the MangoManyPlease Nuus shoulder bag is a more palatable $294. It’s a bit larger than the T Lock, yet quieter given the lack of hardware. If you prefer the small flash of gold, Furla’s Sfera Soft mini fits the bill at $238, but isn’t nearly as slouchy and is a little more petite.

- Furla Sfero Soft mini $238 – this is much smaller than the normal Toteme T Lock, but I included it since the silhouette is so similar
- Aesther Ekme Baguette Bag $550
Loewe Puzzle Bag – $3,500
By now, Loewe’s Puzzle bag can likely be categorized as a classic, timeless bag that has both form and function. But unfortunately also a rising price tag!
The Horse is an Australian brand, with their Clementine bag a close contender for the Puzzle silhouette, sans, the puzzle piecing. At $209, it is one of the more accessible pricepoints on this list. I’ve seen this bag in person a few times from coworkers and relatives, and may write a detailed review later on.
Loewe Flamenco $2,100 – $3,900
Another classic Loewe silhouette, though the updated variation (both called Flamenco, slightly confusing…) seems to be a blend of the original Flamenco and Bottega’s The Pouch. The Charlotte Drawstring bag ($425) from UK brand Strathberry is similar, and comes in 9 different colors to boot.
Celine Camille Soft – $2,950
The influence of Saint Laurent’s more minimalist 5 a 7 line can be seen across multiple luxury houses. For example, the new Camille Soft from Celine has a very similar silhouette. However, all of these bags are easily in the $2k+ range, particularly for medium and up sizing.
Furla’s Goccia line has a variety of styles, ranging from smaller shoulder bags to medium totes that have the same vibe, for a more affordable $298 to $378. Side note: I hadn’t looked at Furla in some time, but am loving a lot of the newer designs from them lately!
