Another wave of summer sales – with major discounts on cooler weather items to stock up on before summer ends.

REI 4th of July Sale

• RIP Outdoor Voices, I love this tank top and shorts (even more than Patagonia Baggies).
• Wool blend quarter socks are my staple hiking socks – unfortunately, these run large, I wear the size Small as a 7.5 and they are still just a smidge loose
• Camping Essentials: REI’s Magma 30 Down Sleeping Bag & Magma 15 Down Sleeping Bag are excellent light, yet warm, down sleeping bags. While the number indicates the lowest temperature it can withstand, I would add an additional ~5 degrees to be safe. I’m so happy they’ve started making these in additional sizes to be unisex, as their old female-specific sleeping bags weren’t really comparable.
• For tents, the Trailmade 2-Person Tent honestly is great for any casual tent / car camper. If you’re traveling as a pair, it’s do-able weight-wise for backpacking when split between two. I’m very intrigued by REI’s ultralight tent offering with the Flash Air 2-Person Tent. And on the opposite end, if you’re looking for extra comfort (and weight), the Skyward 4-Person Tent will be nicely spacious for two.
• Lastly, it’s important to stay hydrated! The BeFree 1L Water Filter Bottle is on sale, which will come in handy if you need to refill from a stream or lake on a longer hike.
