2017 REI Anniversary Sale Top 10 Picks for Women

It’s that time of year again – the annual REI Anniversary Sale! As per usual, there is a ton of current season gear on sale for 25-30% off both online and in-store through May 29, 2017. REI Members can also get 20% off one full-priced item and one garage item as well. Read on for a list of my favorites from this year’s sale.

1. REI Co-op Joule 21 Down sleeping Bag – $299 $223.99
   I was in the market for a new, lighter backpacking-friendly sleeping bag to replace my bulky synthetic bag. This one in particular has received great reviews at its moderate price point for its warmth class. The men’s version, Igneo 17, is also on sale!
2. REI Quarter Dome 2P Tent – $349 $259.99
   I currently use the REI Passage 2 tent, which is great for car camping but a little heavy for backpacking. However, I mainly camp with my fiance, so we can split up the weight of our current tent between two packs. If I were to go solo backpacking, I would consider upgrading to the lighter quarter dome.
3. REI Quarter Dome 2P Tent Footprint – $49.99 $36.99
4. Thermarest Neoair XLite Sleeping Pad – Women’s (unisex also on sale!) – $159.99 $119.89 
   According to reviews, this pad is the best for warmth, comfort and minimal weight. However, I went to test it out in store and it can be a bit noisy/crinkly. That’s why I opted for the wider REI 1.5 Air Rail with my 20% member coupon.
5. Jetboil Mini-Mo Cooking System – $134.99 $99.99 
   Love that this has a wider cup, allowing you to eat out of it more easily vs the traditional shape. If I didn’t already have an MSR pocket rocket, I would consider this!
6. 20% off several Mountain House brand freeze-dried backpacking meals
7. Patagonia Women’s Synchilla Snap T Pullover – $99 $69.99
8. REI Talusphere Women’s Rain Pants – $89.50 $59.99 
   I have an older version of these pants and they’ve served me well in misty and stormy conditions!
9. ExOfficio Mesh Hipkini Underwear – $24 $17.99 
   Super comfortable, lightweight, and quick drying. While they don’t eliminate VPL, it’s worth the trade-off for comfort!
10. Smartwool Women’s Light Hiking Socks – $17.99 $13.39

Of course, this is only a sampling of my personal picks which are mainly skewed towards women’s gear. There is a ton more on the REI website across several categories worth checking out. And for these sale items, quantity is limited – so don’t hesitate too long if you have your eyes on something!
